wp:paragraph -->\n<p>RWD worked with the Black History Museum and Cultural Center of Virginia to develop their inaugural exhibit, <em>In Pursuit of Freedom, Justice, and Equality<\/em>. The exhibit explores the experience of Black Virginians through the theme of resistance. The project&#8217;s scope included text and media development, exhibit design, graphic design, and interactive media development.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>RWD developed nine separate interactive experiences for <em>In Pursuit of Freedom, Justice, and Equality,<\/em> each augmenting a physical exhibit component for a holistic approach to learning about Black history. An Emancipation Stories interactive is positioned underneath the sculptural Emancipation Oak, which RWD designed to represent the oak tree in Hampton, Virginia where the Emancipation Proclamation was first read and free woman Mary S. Peake taught African Americans to read.
